Summary

A CRYOGENIC SYSTEM IS CONSIDERABLY DIFFERENT FROM THE USUAL REFRIGERATION SYSTEM BECAUSE THE FORMER REQUIRES ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS SUCH AS REGENERATOR AND BOOSTER. REGENERATION IS INTERNAL HEAT EXCHANGE. BOOSTING IS RAISING THE HEAT REJECTION TEMPERATURE, OR LOWERING THE HEAT RECEPTION TEMPERATURE BY USING AN AUXILIARY UNIT. LINDE MACHINE USES REGENERATION AND IS ABLE TO LIQUEFY AIR. CLAUDE MACHINE WORKS ON MUCH LOWER PRESSURES AS IT USES AN EXPANDER. REGENERATION AND BOOSTER PRINCIPLE IS USED FOR LIQUEFACTION OF HELIUM.
