Type of article: Article

Summary

AN IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE LEAD OPTIMIZATION CAN BE RELATED TO THE EVALUATION OF A THERMODYNAMIC IRREVERSIBILITY WITHIN THE LEAD MATERIAL. THE PAPER PRESENTS RESULTS OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE HEAT TRANSFER IRREVERSIBILITY IN SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT LEAD (THE COMPOUND YBCO). THE IRREVERSIBILITY CAUSED BY HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH A CURRENT LEAD HAS BEEN INTERPRETED BY THE CORRESPONDING NONDIMENSIONAL ENTROPY GENERATION AS A FUNCTION OF RELEVANT PHYSICAL PARAMETERS.
