Summary

Establish the pure working fluid and working fluid mixtures of the low-temperature Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system thermodynamic model. It mainly explores how to ensure the maximum net work output of the system under different condition, so as to improve the energy conversion efficiency. Selecting dry fluid R245fa, wet fluid R152a and isentropic fluid R600a three typical working fluids, using EES to explore the effect of three kinds of working fluids evaporation temperature on the thermodynamic properties in basic ORC system, it is shown that R245fa has the most superb characteristics among those working fluids. The optimal evaporation temperature of R245fa under given condition is nearly 363K. Using MATLAB and REFPROP software to simulate the working fluid mixtures effect the system. Controlling the proportion of the two organic working fluids R245fa and R152a shows the higher net work than pure R245fa. Based on the results, selecting the appropriate evaporation temperature and mixing proportion of different working fluids, can get higher output work and performance of the system.
