Summary
The paper presents a thermodynamic analysis and theoretical evaluation of the throttling loss prevailing during the expansion process of a simple vapour compression refrigeration system. Numerical results for different potential refrigerants as working fluids and the effects of various operating parameters on the refrigerating effect, compressor work, throttling loss, the ratio of the compression work to the refrigeration effect, as well as the COP have been studied. The effect of isentropic compression efficiency and effectiveness of the regenerative heat exchanger incorporated between the condenser and the evaporator has been investigated.
