Thermodynamic properties of pentafluoroethane (R125) and 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane (R141b).

Summary

Vapour pressures, and liquid and vapour densities were measured for R125 and R141b at temperatures between 180 and 480 K and pressures to 70 megapascals. The critical temperatures were measured and critical pressures derived for each fluid. Enthalpies and entropies for the saturated liquid, saturated and superheated vapour, and the heat capacities of saturated liquid and vapour were derived for R125 from the PVT behaviour and ideal gas heat capacities. The correlations yielded vapour densities, liquid densities, vapour pressures, calculated enthalpies and entropies, and heat capacities accurate to about 0.05, 0.1, 0.05, 1 and 5%, respectively.
