Summary
The article describes an analysis of energy saving in air conditioning plants. The thermal behaviour of a recovery system consisting of an adiabatic humidifier coupled with a three-fluid heat exchanger (external air, supply air, humidified exhaust air) was studied through a numerical simulation. The system allows a significant recovery of the energy required for both cooling and re-heating treatment in summertime conditions. The model developed allowed the authors to determine how efficient the system is for different operating conditions, with reference to a typical temperate climate.
