Summary

THE TECHNIQUE IS BASED ON PHYSICAL PARAMETERS, SUCH AS COIL SIZE, TUBE ARRANGEMENT, TUBE AND FIN SPACING, COIL AND FIN THICKNESSES, AND TYPES OF MATERIAL. IT CAN BE APPLIED TO HEATING OR COOLING WITH DEHUMIDIFICATION. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ARE DERIVED FROM FUNDAMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS. THE TECHNIQUE SIMULATES THE TEMPERATURE GRADIENTS ACROSS THE COIL MATERIAL, THE FLUID PROCESS LINES, THE EXCHANGER'S CAPACITY, AND ITS DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE. A NUMBER OF NUMERICAL INTEGRATION METHODS ARE ALSO EXAMINED AND IT IS SHOWN THAT THE SIMPLEST METHOD IS ADEQUATE FOR THIS APPLICATION.
