Summary

THIS PAPER DEALS WITH THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIOUR OF HEATING SYSTEMS. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE A BETTER KNOWLEDGE OF NEW HEATING SYSTEMS, -ACCURATE ANNUAL CONSUMPTION, OPTIMAL CONTROL AND SO ON -COMPUTER PROGRAM ADAPTED TO SUCH A WORK IS NEEDED. ASTEC 3, DESIGNED IN FRANCE, IS A PROGRAM USING ELECTRIC TO THERMAL ANALOGY WITH NUMERICAL SOLUTION. TWO EXAMPLES OF USING THIS PROGRAM ARE SHOWN. THE FIRST ONE IS THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIOUR OF AN OUTSIDE AIR TO WATER HEAT PUMP CONNECTED WITH AN OIL FURNACE BOTH ARE ON-OFF CONTROLLED ; THE SECOND ONE IS THE EFFECT ON THE INDOOR TEMPERATURE OF DIFFERENT CONTROL SYSTEMS CONNECTED TO AN HYDRONIC HEATING COIL USING AN ELECTRIC FURNACE.
