Summary

CRYOSURGERY WAS PERFORMED ON 68 PATIENTS WITH DISSEMINATED LUNG CANCER. THE THREE-YEAR SURVIVAL RATE WAS 68.3%. THE RESULTS SEEM TO SHOW SOME ADVANTAGES OF CRYOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF DISSEMINATED LUNG CANCER. RELATIVELY LITTLE TRAUMA AND FEW COMPLICATIONS RESULTED. IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MOST PATIENTS AFTER CRYOTHERAPY MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR TOLERANCE OF LATER CHEMOTHERAPY AND THEIR PROLONGED LIVES.
