Triple fluid vapour absorption refrigerator: investigations on solution circuit.

Summary
The paper deals with theoretical investigations on the solution circuit of the triple fluid vapour absorption refrigerator (Absorption-Diffusion Refrigerator). The solution circuit is briefly explained. Two-phase flow pressure drop at the bubble pump is estimated. Mathematical model of solution circuit is developed using material balance, energy balance, heat transfer and fluid flow equations. The model is programmed to solve for any given set of input parameters. Influences of heat input to bubble pump, total pressure, diameter of the pump tube and driving head on the pump performance are studied. Flow and thermal characteristics of the solution circuit is found to depend mainly on the bubble pump, thus making it a critical component of the refrigerator.
