Tuning control loops: nonlinearities and anomalies.
Author(s) : WATTON A. Jr, MARCKS R. K.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The tuning of a control loop is an important part of maintaining an efficient process. However, loop performance and the loop tuning process may be compromised by various nonlinearities and anomalies in a loop. Nonlinearities may be an inherent property of the process, or may be inadvertently introduced during the design process, equipment specification, the installation process, or even due to improper maintenance.
