Summary

THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE A ZEOLITE-WATER SORPTION SYSTEM, AND PRESENT 2 APPLICATIONS OF IT: NIGHT-ELECTRICITY-STORAGE HEATING, AND A CFC-FREE HEAT PUMP/WATER HEATER. A PROTOTYPE OF THE LATTER HAS BEEN OPERATING FOR OVER 2 YEARS IN A MUNICH HOTEL FOR HEATING OF NON-DRINKING WATER (MEASUREMENT RESULTS ARE PRESENTED). BOTH REQUIRE ABOUT 30% LESS ELECTRICITY THAN OTHER, CONVENTIONAL INSTALLATIONS, AND, IN THE CASE OF THE LATTER, COLD IS PRODUCED WHICH CAN BE USEDFOR REFRIGERATING AND AIR-CONDITIONING PURPOSES. M.
