Uncovering continuing opportunities for thermal energy storage worldwide.
Author(s) : MCCLOSKEY W. D.
Summary
A series of tables are presented. These tables show that thermal storage is increasingly attracting attention, above all in air-conditioning applications, even where no economic drivers are present. In fact thermal storage means that a water temperature 6 deg C lower than conventional systems can be used. Besides potential power savings thanks to night rates, another benefit of this system is the fact that the size and thus the price of plant can be reduced. Other examples are given.
