Summary

THIS PAPER PRESENTS SIX NEW CHARTS DESCRIBING THE HEAT AND TEMPERATURE HISTORIES OF VARIOUSLY SHAPED OBJECTS. THESE CHARTS USE, AS A CHARACTERISTIC LENGTH, THE VOLUME-TO-SURFACE AREA RATIO OF THE OBJECT. WITH THIS DEFINITION IT IS POSSIBLE TO CONDENSE THE COOLING HISTORY OF THE VARIOUS OBJECTS ONTO A SINGLE CHART. ALL CHARTS WERE DRAWN BY COMPUTER AND SOME SMALL ERRORS WERE FOUND IN PREVIOUSLY USED CHARTS ON OTHER LENGTH MEASUREMENTS ; THESE HAVE BEEN CORRECTED IN THIS PAPER.
