Summary

RESEARCH WAS DONE ON THE DESORPTION PROCESS OF AMMONIA FROM OCTOAMMONIACATE OF STRONTIUM CHLORIDE AND OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE. IT IS SHOWN THAT, IN SIMILAR CONDITIONS, DESORPTION OCCURS FASTER AND AT LOWER TEMPERATURES WITH OCTOAMMONIACATE OF STRONTIUM CHLORIDE THAN WITH OCTOAMMONIACATE OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE. THE MASS OF AMMONIA DESORBED FROM THE OCTOAMMONIACATE OF STRONTIUM CHLORIDE WAS CONSIDERABLY GREATER THAN THAT FROM THE OCTOAMMONIACATE OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE. THE ADVANTAGE OF THE FORMER ALLOWS IT TO BE USED EFFECTIVELY IN SOLAR-POWERED REFRIGERATING PLANTS.
