Based on bibliographic data, the different applications of plastics to transport, packaging and storage of fruit and vegetables are described. Indirect effect of plastics in the production of modified atmosphere, ripening, deterioration and quality of raw, dehydrated and quick-frozen fruit and vegetables. Food-packaging interactions are described.
