Summary

THE PAPER DESCRIBES ELECTRIC APPLICATIONS SAVING ENERGY: -AIR CONDITIONING OF INCUBATORS BY A HEAT PUMP ON EXHAUST AIR. COP REACHES 9. SAVINGS IN OPERATION AMOUNT TO 20%. THE VENTILATION RATE, WITH ALL FRESH AIR, IS 1 M3/H FOR 100 EGGS. SEVERAL SYSTEMS CAN BE ADOPTED. THE ONE SELECTED COMBINES A STATIC RECOVERY UNIT (HEAT PIPE) AND A HEAT PUMP ; -MUSHROOM GROWING. A HEAT PUMP BETWEEN SUPPLIED AND EXHAUST AIR, COOLING IN SUMMER AND HEATING IN WINTER, MAINTAINS THE CAVE TEMPERATURE AT 288 K (15 DEG C) WITH LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION ; -WINE-MAKING. THE PAPER REPORTS THE TEMPERATURE TO BE MAINTAINED AND HEAT AND COLD LOADS. IT SURVEYS THE CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF A HEAT PUMP ; -HEATING OF GLASS-HOUSES. HEAT PUMPS CAN BE ENVISAGED ESPECIALLY WHEN WATER IS AVAILABLE AS THE COLD SOURCE (WATER-AIR OR WATER-WATER SYSTEM). A.G.
