PRESENTATION OF THE METHODS OF UTILIZATION OF THE HEAT ENERGY EMITTED FROM REFRIGERATING SYSTEMS AND OF THE CONSTRAINTS OF THERMAL RECOVERY IMPOSED BY THERMODYNAMIC PRINCIPLES AND SAFETY RULES. LIMITING ITS STUDY TOTHE MECHANICAL COMPRESSION SYSTEMS, AND ILLUSTRATING IT WITH NUMEROUS DIAGRAMS, THE AUTHOR EXAMINES THE DESIGN OF PLANTS WITH A REFRIGERATING OUTPUT (USEFUL OR WASTE) AND WITH A HEAT OUTPUT (USEFUL OR WASTE) ; THEN, HE CONCENTRATES ON THE SYSTEMS FOR WHICH BOTH ARE USEFUL (HEAT PUMPS). HE EXAMINES THE DIFFERENT POSSIBLE SYSTEMS AS A FUNCTION OF THE TEMPERATURE LEVEL REQUIRED FOR PRODUCING USEFUL HEAT, AND THEIR INTEREST FROM AN ECONOMIC POINT OF VIEW. HE DESCRIBES MORE PARTICULARLY THE CASCADE SYSTEMS USED FOR HIGH LEVELS. THEN HE ANALYZES OTHER DIFFERENT HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEMS POSSIBLE WITH REFRIGERATING CIRCUITS (DESUPERHEATING AND SUBCOOLING), AND DESCRIBES FINALLY THE CONSTRAINTS RELATIVE TO SAFETY URES OF THE USE OF REFRIGERANT FLUIDS).
