UTILIZATION OF LOW TEMPERATURE TECHNOLOGY IN THE SOLUTION OF ENERGY PROBLEMS.

Author(s) : TIMMERHAUS K. D.

Summary

IT IS RECOGNISED THAT NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES ARE LIMITED AND IT IS NECESSARY TO SAVE THEM AND TO DEVELOP ALTERNATIVES. LOW TEMPERATURE TECHNOLOGY OFFERS DIVERSE SOLUTIONS FOR CONSERVING ENERGY SUPPLIES, UPGRADING PREVIOUSLY DISCARDED LOW-VALUE ENERGY RESOURCES AND DEVELOPING REPLACEMENTS FOR CONVENTIONAL FUELS. SOME OF THEM ARE ALREADY USED BUT MOST ARE STILL BEING DEVELOPED AND OTHERS ARE AWAITING THE RIGHT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS BEFORE THEY BECOME VIABLE OPTIONS. THE AUTHOR REPORTS SEVERAL SOLUTIONS, AMONGST THE MOST RECENT ONES, USING LOW TEMPERATURES AND THE ASSOCIATED TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS.
