Value of industry's output grew by 24% last year.

Summary

Every year the Census Bureau lumps the industry into a general product classification under the broad umbrella of SIC 3585, "Refrigeration, air conditioning and warm heating equipment". Last year, the value of all of this US output totaled USD 16.6 billion, a 10-year growth of 57%. The 1994 performance was also 24% ahead of 1993, the largest single one-year increase in the past decade.
