Vapour flow study in a cylindrical wick heat pipe operating at low temperature.

Author(s) : BIANCHI A. M.

Summary

The study of the vapour flow in the central part of a heat pipe aims, at one hand, the establishment of its role and importance in the functional phenomenological picture and, on the other hand, the determination of the pressure drop in this working fluid phase for the optimal design of this device. From the analysis of the research study destined to this important problem it resulted the timely necessity of their continuation to obtain the supplementary information. Therefore, this work presents an investigation of the vapour flow in a heat pipe operating at low temperatures, by approaching a study model which tries to render quite accurate the real phenomenon. The results obtained allowed the representation of the axial distributions of velocities, temperatures and pressures and their comparison with the meaningful data from literature of speciality and the author's own experiments.
