VERTICAL TUBULAR BUBBLE ABSORBERS FOR AMMONIA-LITHIUM NITRATE ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS.

Summary
A METHOD IS DESCRIBED FOR CALCULATING HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER DURING THE ABSORPTION OF NH3 IN NH3-LITHIUM NITRATE. THE ABSORBER STUDIED IS VERTICAL, WITH GAS BUBBLES (NH3) AND THE ABSORBENT NH3-LITHIUM NITRATE LIQUID CIRCULATING IN THE SAME DIRECTION (UPWARDS). AN EMPIRICAL CORRELATION IS SET UP FOR THE PREDICTION OF THE MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENT. AN EXAMPLE ILLUSTRATES THE APPLICATION OF THIS PROCEDURE. A COMPARISON IS MADE WITH THE NH3-H2O SYSTEM.
