Summary
To make a small refrigerator with high efficiency, small refrigeration power and a low vibration level at low temperatures, an expander is introduced and theoretically investigated. This expander uses fluid viscous forces to drag a rotor, thus causing it to rotate and produce work, and therefore to generate refrigeration power. Analyses of the dynamic and thermodynamic processes of fluid flow in the expander have been carried out. Analytical expressions of output power with adiabatic expansion efficiency in terms of the geometric and hydrodynamic parameters are derived from viscous theory.
