From August 1, 1994, it is illegal to store PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) in New Zealand. PCBs can be found in many places, including window air conditioning units, refrigeration compressors, fan motors, compressors, cool rooms, pumps, HEVAC systems, etc.
