Summary

NOTES THAT THE POSSIBILITIES FOR ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION PLANTS HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED IN THE AUSTRIAN FOOD INDUSTRY. AS A RESULT, AN AMMONIA-WATER ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION PLANT, RATED AT 60 KILOWATTS AT 244 K (-29 DEG C) USING THE WASTE HEAT RECOVERED FROM A 400 KILOWATTS BIOGAS ENGINE WAS INSTALLED IN A POTATO PROCESSING COMPANY IN 1987. A COMPUTER-AIDED DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED TO MONITOR THE PLANT PERFORMANCE. GIVES A BRIEF COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS.
