Summary
The EC Directive 2037-2000 of the European Parliament and the European Council dated June 29, 2000, covering ozone-depleting substances, came into force on October 1, 2000. This directive bans the use of chloro-fluorocarbons (CFCs) and also specifies the date as of which these substances will be totally banned. This article covers key extracts of capital importance and provides an interpretation. A table provides an overview of CFC refrigerants and alternatives to these.
