A special gift for New Year’s Eve: free access to the 2024 most downloaded IIR conference paper!

As we ring in 2025, the International Institute of Refrigeration has a special gift for you! Download for free the most downloaded IIR conference paper of the year, focusing on the potential use of R1132A.

🎉 Happy New Year’s Eve from IIR! 🎉

To celebrate the upcoming year, we are offering free access to the most downloaded IIR conference paper of 2024! This paper, published during the 2018 IIR International Conference on the Application of HFOs in Birmingham, has been one of the most requested documents in the FRIDOC database.

The paper, titled “Evaluation of potential use of R1132A as a refrigerant blend component”, was written by Robert Low of Mexichem (now Koura), a collective member of the IIR. It addresses the challenges and opportunities of using R1132A as part of a new, lower-GWP refrigerant mixture for ultra-low temperature refrigeration applications.

Historically, refrigeration applications requiring evaporation at temperatures ranging from -50°C to -100°C have used non-flammable fluids with very high GWP, such as R23 and R508A/B. The paper explores R1132A as a potential blend component, offering promising results. Thermodynamic property analysis, performance testing, and stability testing have been conducted, with initial results indicating that R-1132A could be an excellent candidate for future refrigerant mixtures.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore this valuable and still-relevant conference paper. Download it now for free and stay connected to the latest research in refrigeration!
