ICCC 2018 welcomed nearly 200 participants

Hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, the 5th IIR Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain welcomed nearly 200 participants this month in Beijing, China.

Hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR) and attracting nearly 200 experts, students and professionals from across the globe, the 5th IIR Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain (ICCC 2018) took place on 6-8 April 2018 in Beijing, China.


The conference opened with a warm welcome speech from the conference chair, vice president of IIR Section B2 Mr Ruzhu Wang, followed by speeches from Mr Meng Qingguo, vice president and secretary general of the CAR, and Mr Didier Coulomb, Director General of the IIR.


The 3-day conference offered a full programme of dynamic exchange and the 73 high quality papers accepted will soon be available to download from the IIR Fridoc database.


Five plenary lectures were delivered, with IIR Delegate of France and President of Section C, Jacques Guilpart, delivering a plenary speech exploring the relationship between food preservation, refrigerant use and energy consumption.

Save the date for ICCC 2020: the 6th conference in the ICCC series will take place in Nantes, France in April 2020.
