Increase in LNG sales for road transport in Germany in 2020
Data from a German survey estimate a threefold increase in sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for road transport between 2019 and 2020.
According to a survey by Zukunft ERDGAS, 30 200 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for road transport were sold between January and September 2020 in Germany. The number of LNG stations currently in service in Germany has increased from 11 to 39 from 2019 to 2020.
Using monthly sales data from LNG stations between January 2019 and September 2020, analysts projected sales until December 2020. They calculated that about 47 000 tons of LNG were sold in Germany is 2020. This estimation represents a threefold increase compared with 2019 volume sales which amounted to 14 550 tons.
