Obituary: José Miguel Corberán

The IIR is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of José Miguel Corberán Salvador, former President of Commission B2, at the age of 65.

The IIR is deeply saddened to learn that José Miguel Corberán Salvador died on July 7, 2022 at the age of 65.

He served as Professor in the Department of Applied Thermodynamics and Director of the Institute for Energy Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain.

José Miguel Corberán was very active in the IIR and was highly regarded for his dedication and kindness.

He was President of the IIR Commission B2 “Refrigeration Equipment” from 2019 to 2021.

He was also Chairman of the IIR Working Group “Refrigerant Charge Reduction in Refrigeration Systems” and contributed to the preparation of the 25th IIR Informatory Note of the IIR on refrigeration technologies.

José Miguel Corberán also organised the 13th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants in Valencia (Spain) in June 2018.

Among the many articles and papers he wrote, a hundred are available in FRIDOC.

The IIR extends its sincere sympathy to his family and relatives.
