Quick Frozen Foods Code
The Recommended International Code of Practice for the Processing and Handling of Quick Frozen Foods of the Codex Alimentarius (Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme) is now available on the Codex Alimentarius Web site on the list of official standards: it is on the list of codes, just after the list of standards, under the reference CAC/RCP 8. Following a request from the Codex Secretariat, the IIR, thanks to a dozen IIR experts, played a key role in the preliminary phase of the review of this major code, starting in 2000. Following later work spearheaded by Thailand and the USA, a final document was presented to the Codex Alimentarius Commission in July 2008 and was approved.
