As an intergovernmental organisation (IGO), the IIR is systematically invited to the various Conferences of the Parties on climate change and has the opportunity to make a statement in plenary session in front of the representatives of countries, IGOs and NGOs. But the IIR was also invited to speak at two "side events", one organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and Pakistan on "Pakistan's efforts in transitioning from HFCs to ozone and climate friendly alternatives"; the other organised by France on "Cooling: concrete solutions for raising ambition and action - the case of cities".

Finally, the Director General also had the opportunity during his stay to meet Scottish colleagues involved in the COP, including our collective member, Star Refrigeration.
