Résumé

Scanning microscopy showed changes in the epicuticular wax during fruit development. Freezing fruits at -20 deg C then thawing them facilitated manual removal of the epidermis. The presence of a large number of stomata and trichomes, together with a non-complex epicuticular wax could be factors contributing to high water losses after harvest in passion fruits. The results provided information about morphological changes associated with fruit senescence.
