Résumé

ECSLA is an industry association focused on cold storage and logistics. Its members own or operate facilities with a total storage capacity of 39.5 million cubic metres over a network of 700 locations spread throughout the EU and Switzerland. This report shows the great diversity and complexity of topics influencing the temperature-controlled logistics business from a European perspective. Extract from the table of contents: cold storage and logistics trends in Europe (capacity, occupancy, company developments, trends for some EU agricultural markets: beef, pig, sheep and goat meat, poultry, milk and dairy products, frozen food, fruit); European affairs (beef, food legislation, temperature requirements, aid to private cold stores, sheep meat sector, EU phytosanitary legislation and general storage conditions); technical matters (risk in cold storage operations, refrigerants, energy, product temperature records, sandwich panels, guidelines on good logistic practice); ECSLA and other association matters; ECSLA members and officials.
