IIR World Refrigeration Day 2025 Event

Introduction

 

The 2025 IIR World Refrigeration Day event brings together key decision-makers from governments, industry, academia and partner international organisations to foster dialogue and collaboration about the importance of the refrigeration sector in society. This event will be celebrated exactly one year after the new IIR strategy 2024-2028 was endorsed and it responds to our mission to foster collaboration and exchange knowledge.

The event will provide an opportunity to celebrate World Refrigeration Day and a platform for discussions about the refrigeration sector's vital role, from ensuring access to safe food and temperature-sensitive health products through refrigeration and cold chains, to supporting the decarbonisation of the heating sector through heat pump technologies and advancing energy security.

The 2025 IIR World Refrigeration Day event focuses on the following theme:

The critical role of refrigeration and heat pump solutions in advancing human well-being, animal welfare and climate sustainability

 

Historical exhibition

 

The event will have a special feature, a curated exhibition that traces the evolution of refrigeration and the pivotal role of the IIR since its inception in 1908.

Participants will have the opportunity to discover rare historical documents, publications, and the stories of emblematic figures who have shaped the refrigeration field, offering a unique perspective on how past innovations and visionaries continue to inspire future advancements.
