Number: pap. n. 390

Author(s) : YUAN L., QIAN S., YU J., et al.

Summary

A transient two-dimensional model for the parallel plate matrix regenerator is developed to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of oscillating flow. Moreover, the simulated impact of operating frequency on the heat transfer coefficient are presented. To quantitatively describe the influence of operating frequency, this paper compares the heat transfer coefficient calculated by simulations, correlations with the oscillating Reynolds number and correlations with the conventional Reynolds number. In the end, modifications of the empirical correlation are introduced to account for such frequency dependency.
