Thermodynamical analysis of thermoelectrical multistage cooling system.

Author(s) : WARTANOWICZ T.

Summary

Former research were based on the simplified physical and mathematical models. The paper presents analysis taking into account the variability of physical parameters of thermoelectric materials related to temperature. Theoretical research includes the optimization of work of the multistage setup in relation to three characteristic conditions: maximum cooling capacity, maximum temperatures difference and maximum COP starting point for definition of physical model of this set-up are non-linear equations of thermal balance for interstage junctions. According with the mathematical point of view, the problem can be formulated by mixed integer nonlinear programming. The newest version of GAMS software (USA) was utilized for the solution it this issue. The solution of this optimization problem enable to determine the geometric configuration of the multistage setup and the optimal parameters of power supply.
