Summary

STATES THAT IN ORDER TO PRESERVE PERISHABLE PRODUCTS DURING REFRIGERATED TRANSPORTATION OR STORAGE, AIR VELOCITY DISTRIBUTION, AIR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY ARE IMPORTANT. NOTES THAT THE PREDICTION OF VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTIONS IN A REFRIGERATED ROOM REQUIRES THE SIMULTANEOUS SOLUTION OF THE EQUATIONS GOVERNING THE FLOW PATTERN. BASICALLY THESE ARE INTERACTING NON-LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS REQUIRING SIMULTANEOUS INTEGRATION BY AN ITERATION PROCESS. SHOWS THE FIRST RESULTS OF AN ADVANCED COMPUTER PACKAGE (PHOENICS) FOR SIMULATING AIR FLOWS IN CLOSED ROOMS. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 26, N 5, 1991/09-10, 91-01464.
