EFFICIENCY OF PRIMARY ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF HYDROGEN RECOVERY IN AMMONIA SYNTHESIS.

Summary

THE USE OF HYDROGEN RECOVERY IN AMMONIA SYNTHESIS RESULTS IN A 3% INCREASE IN AMMONIA PRODUCTION. THE AUTHORS SUGGEST A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE PRIMARY ENERGY COST OF HYDROGEN RECOVERY. THEY SHOW THAT HYDROGEN RECOVERY COSTS ONLY ONE THIRD OF THE CONSUMPTION OF PRIMARY ENERGY, CORRESPONDING TO AN OVERDIMENSIONED UNIT RESULTING IN THE SAME INCREASED CAPACITY.
