Summary

A FINITE DIFFERENCE DYNAMIC CALCULATION CODE WAS DEVELOPED TO ESTIMATE THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION REQUIRED FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING OF BUILDINGS DURING SUMMER. THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS ARE CONSIDERED: EFFECTS OF THE THERMAL INERTIA OF WALLS, OF SOLAR RADIATION, OF INTERMITTENT OPERATION AND OF SENSIBLE AND LATENT HEAT GAINS DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF PEOPLE, TO LIGHTING AND TO OTHER SOURCES. IN THIS MODEL, RADIATIVE AND CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFERS ARE GLOBALLY EVALUATED BMSO. THE CODE MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO EVALUATE, ON A MONTHLY BASIS, THE ENERGY REQUIRED FOR COOLING, REFRIGERATING AND HEATING AS WELL AS THE CORRESPONDING POWERS, ON A HOURLY BASIS.
