Summary
The study of the past 50 year history of building service systems has shown that they have been selected and modified many times for various reasons, and in response to revisions of the law. It is also clear that these systems have had a significant effect on architectural planning and design. The paper gives a general analysis and case study of a building for which natural lighting, natural ventilation, and Building Energy and Environment Management Systems have been developed and applied. Additionally the article reports on key approaches toward developing environment conscious building design, which include "long-life" and "environment-conscious" materials.
