Summary

A THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE PERFORMANCE OF METAL HYDRIDE HEAT TRANSFORMERS AND HEAT PUMPS IS MADE FOR DIFFERENT METAL ALLOY PAIRS. RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN THE FORM OF NOMOGRAMS TO YIELD THE OPERATING TEMPERATURES, COP AND EXERGETIC EFFICIENCIES. POSSIBILITIES OF OPERATION OF METAL HYDRIDE SYSTEMS IN CASCADED AND DUAL-EFFECT (BOTH HEATING AND COOLING) MODES ARE DISCUSSED.
