A FLUID FLOW AND VALVE FORCE MODEL FOR THE SUCTION SIDE OF A VARIABLE SPEED HEAT PUMP COMPRESSOR.

Summary

A MODEL OF THE TIME-VARYING FLUID FLOW IN THE SUCTION LINES OF A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR IS PRESENTED. THE MODEL UTILIZES AN IMPEDANCE TYPE SOLUTION TO THE LINEARIZED, ONE-DIMENSIONAL ACOUSTIC WAVE EQUATION AND CAN BE RUN AS A PART OF A COMPRESSOR SIMULATIONTO PREDICT COMPRESSOR PERFORMANCE AND SUCTION VALVE BEHAVIOUR FOR SEVERAL RUNNING SPEEDS UNDER LOW MASS FLOW (HEAT PUMP) CONDITIONS.
