Summary

A TETRAGONAL-ORTHORHOMBIC TRANSITION WAS OBSERVED BY ANNEALING THE SUPERCONDUCTING < TETRAGONAL > OXIDE LBCO AT 450 DEG C. THE ORTHORHOMBIC CELL PARAMETERS ARE A: 3.895, B: 3.944 AND C: 11.829 ANGSTROMS. X-RAY DIFFRACTION STUDY SHOWED THATTHIS ORTHORHOMBIC OXIDE EXHIBITS AN ORDERED OXYGEN DEFICIENT PEROVSKITE STRUCTURE. THE PARAMETERS AND INTERATOMIC DISTANCES ARE DISCUSSED.
