Summary

UNUSUALLY LARGE RATES OF CRITICAL TEMPERATURE DEPRESSION FOUND HAVE BEEN EXPLAINED IN TERMS OF SOME OF THE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF ZINC. CLOSE SIMILARITIES IN THEIR BEHAVIOUR SUGGEST THAT THE MECHANISM OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY FOR THE TWO SYSTEMS IS UNLIKELY TO BE DIFFERENT.
