Summary

THE CFF COLD STORE AT MARNE-LA-VALLEE INCLUDES TWO 35,000 M3 COLD ROOMS (81 X 26 M, 17 M HIGH). THE FIRST ROOM IS EQUIPPED FOR THE AUTOMATIC STORAGE OF PALLETISED GOODS WITH GENTRY STACKERS AND STATIONARY PALLET RACKS. THE SECOND ROOM IS USED AT PRESENT FOR BULK STORAGE ON SIX LEVELS AND FOR THE PREPARATION OF ORDERS ON A SINGLE LEVEL. THE THIRD ROOM, BEING BUILT (81 X 26 M, 10 M HIGH) WILL INCLUDE STORAGE ON FIVE LEVELS, WITH A PART ON A MOVABLE PALLET RACK AND AN AREA FOR THE PREPARATION OF ORDERS ON THREE LEVELS. THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION ASSISTED BY COMPUTERS AND PROGRAMMABLE AUTOMATONS IS DESCRIBED, WITH ITS DEVELOPMENT. J.L.
