BRIEF MONOGRAPH ON A PUBLIC COLD STORE BUILT IN 1986-87 BY A BIG COLD STORAGE FIRM TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF A LARGE FROZEN FOOD MANUFACTURER AND ITS CUSTOMERS. THE CASE IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE RECENT EVOLUTION OF THE ROLE OF THE PUBLIC COLD STORE WITH REGARD TO ITS MAIN CUSTOMERS. ACCURATE DATA ARE GIVEN ON THE FLOW OF GOODS INTO OR FROM THE ADJACENT FROZEN FOOD FACTORY (STORAGE OF RAW MATERIALS BEFORE AND SHIPMENT PLATFORM FOR PACKED FOODS AFTER). THE PRINCIPLES FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT ARE GIVEN, WITH SOME DATA ON THE TECHNIQUES USED (BUILDING, REFRIGERATING EQUIPMENT, HANDLING EQUIPMENT AND COMPUTERIZATION). J.R.
