Summary

Within the framework of a study on the reduction of the quantity of refrigerant in the refrigeration system used for a cold room conducted by Cemagref and GREThE with support from Ademe, research focused on new evaporator concepts was implemented. After having proposed various geometries, GREThE sized an evaporator meeting the requirements inherent in reduced refrigerant charge used in the plant without compromising the thermal performance, which remained comparable to that of the former evaporator.
