Summary

There are approximately 840 AMeDAS (Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System) stations in Japan. At every station measurements of hourly temperature, rate of sunshine, precipitation, wind direction and wind speed are taken. However, no measurements are made of solar radiation, humidity and downward atmospheric radiation. In the paper, previous equations for hourly solar radiation estimation are modified and enhanced.
