IN NEW ZEALAND SMALL BOATS (9 TO 19 M IN LENGTH) ARE FREEZING FISH AT SEA. FREEZING SYSTEMS RAISE PARTICULAR PROBLEMS. A SERIES OF DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WERE USED FOR ESTABLISHING A MODEL OF THE DYNAMICS OF THE FREEZING SYSTEM. THE COMPUTER PROVIDED ACCURATE PREDICTIONS AND MADE IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A CHEAP, RELIABLE FREEZER.
